Project summary

The Bute Town Nanny project was a 10 month project aimed to encourage older people from different backgrounds to come out and connect with other members of the community and celebrate diversity through sharing of traditional food and snacks.

Our approach

The project was designed to help the older people within the community connect with the younger generation using cooking and baking as a tool engage with one another.

Our achievement

The older members of the community were very happy to share their knowledge and recipes with the youths within the community. They also reported feeling valued and loved every moment of the project. The youths within the community felt more connected with the older generation as they learnt from the older generations how to cook traditional recipes and found the process very exciting!
